Club Membership
Membership at Nature Friends is about more than access, it’s about belonging and participating. As a member, you become part of a welcoming community rooted in nature, shared experiences, volunteerism, and a long-standing tradition of gathering in beautiful spaces. Whether you’re helping care for the property, attending events, volunteering, connecting with others, or simply spending time in a peaceful setting, membership means taking an active part in the life of the club. Your involvement helps sustain Nature Friends and keeps the community strong for everyone.

Membership Requirements
Nature Friends Los Angeles membership is based on participation, cooperation, and support for the Club and its mission.
Members are expected to:
Follow and respect the bylaws, rules, and policies of Nature Friends Los Angeles and Nature Friends, Inc.
Renew membership annually and remain current on dues.
Support the Club’s mission, including appreciation of nature, conservation, friendship, and cooperation.
Contribute to the care and maintenance of Club facilities when possible and within their physical abilities.
Participate in volunteer service and Club activities when possible.
Conduct themselves in a respectful manner that supports the Club, its members, and its community.
New Member Applications
New membership applications are subject to review and approval in accordance with the Nature Friends Los Angeles bylaws. Prospective members are generally expected to:
Submit a completed membership application.
Receive the endorsement of two current Nature Friends members in good standing (active members whose current dues are paid).
Agree to follow the bylaws, rules, and policies of the organization.
Receive approval of their membership application by Board of Directors and Membership Chair in accordance with the bylaws.
Application and Renewal
Joining or renewing your membership is simple. New applicants can complete a short application to help us get to know you and ensure a good fit with the club’s values. Returning members can renew each year to maintain uninterrupted access to events, spaces, and member benefits. Your membership directly supports the care of our property and the continuation of the community we share.
Membership renewal and applications are available in October 2026.
Rules and Policies
To keep Nature Friends welcoming, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, members are expected to follow a few simple guidelines:
• Respect the space. Treat the property, facilities, and surrounding nature with care. Leave areas as you found them.
• Respect others. Be courteous, inclusive, and mindful of fellow members, guests, and neighbors.
• Follow event and safety guidelines. Adhere to posted rules, staff instructions, and all fire safety requirements.
• Use of facilities. Member use of spaces should align with club guidelines and approved activities.
• Guests. Members are responsible for their guests and ensuring they follow all rules.
• Noise and conduct. Keep noise at reasonable levels and maintain a positive, community-oriented atmosphere.
• Clean up. Dispose of trash properly and help keep shared spaces tidy.
